Hobbies Arrow
The Hobbies Arrow is a wood kit build based on the Bowman steam launches of the 1930s. The wood used is dominantly pine with mahogany for the rear deack. The length of the finished boat is about 3 feet with a bean of ca. 4 inches. I started building the Arrow in September 2008. The first stage of the build was to transfer the plans from paper onto to wood itself so that the different shaped parts (e.g. bulkheads etc) cut be cut to shape. The engine that will power the Arrow is a twin cylinder engine from a Bowman M140 stationary steam engine. The engine, boiler and remote control gear were supplied by Odilon.
