Projects:
On this page are links to descriptions and photo galleries showing the slow but steady progress of various ongoing projects.
Steam Toys
On this tab you will find links to a number of steam toys. These are working steam engines that I have restored, with help from friends, back to working order.
I have a confession to make ... I'm not a steam enthusiast ... I've only been interested in steam engines for a couple of years. What kick-started me was a steam powered boat, The Seahawk, which belonged to my wife's late father. As I didn't know anything about steam engines, boats or anything like that, it was important to find someone who does. His name is Odilon Marcenaro and he is a true expert. Odilon is helping me with lots of advice, hints and tips, as well as working his magic on various engineering aspects of steam toys.
Dolls House
This is a 1/12 scale dolls house, complete with basement, built for Juliette over a period of a couple of years.
Reiher Glider
I have been working on building a large remote controlled Glider, mostly off rather than on, over the past 7 years. The kit, made by Krick of Germany, is of the famous Reiher glider. This was a high performance sailplane originally built in the late 1930s. One day I hope to finish and fly the glider.
