Bowman Seahawk
The Bowman Seahawk is the top-of-the-range steam boat made by Bowman in the 1930s. It is powered by a twin cylinder engine driving a single propeller via geared shaft. This particular boat was found under a pile of old tools and junk in my late father-in-law's house. It is virtually complete even down to the original washers. However, the boat was in desparate need of cleaning and restoration.
The following gallaries and pages are a restoration diary.
- Finished restoration, December 2007
- Hull repair and new paintwork, August 2007
- Paintwork on the hull, June 2007
- Valve removal and boiler cleaning, Feb 2007
- Removal of boiler, Jan 2007
- Original boat, Dec 2006
